7 years ago when I discovered CrossFit, I never even dreamed of Coaching let alone owning my own gym. Now, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

It’s the members that make this gym, we are a family and it’s ever growing.

I strive to uphold CrossFits mantra of ‘Virtuosity’ Doing the common uncommonly well.

My background prior to Crossfit was in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) but I hung up my gloves in 2012.

AJ is one of Fort Ashtons part time coaches and was originally a member, starting at Fort Ashton in November 2016.

Previous to CrossFit AJ trained and competed in multiple sports such as Swimming, Rugby and Powerlifting. During this time he qualified for the British Championships in the BDFPA (British Drug Free Powerlifting Association) but soon after transitioned over to CrossFit to challenge and improve his overall fitness.

Since joining Fort Ashton AJ fell in love with not only the CrossFit methodology but also the community, so much so that he decided to intern through Fort Ashton to become a coach.

Over the past year AJ has now committed his life to being a CrossFit coach, developing his skills and plans to continue expanding his knowledge as much as he can to hone his craft.

He continues to coach outside of Fort Ashton in other CrossFit boxes (CrossFit Avon) and also provides online programming to individuals across the UK and even internationally.

AJ's is not only passionate about CrossFit as a sport but also as an athlete and a coach; improving people's physical and mental wellness through exercise performance.

James, a full time coach at Crossfit Fort Ashton, has been coaching athletes and individuals for nearly a decade. James started his coaching career back in 2009 as an intern for Crossfit Bath. Over the years James has coached at many different Crossfit facilities throughout the Bristol and Bath region eventually landing on his feet with Crossfit Fort Ashton in late 2016. As well as being a full time Crossfit coach, In 2017 he ventured to Austin Texas, where he became the UK’s first Block One Power Athlete Coach.

James is a dedicated practitioner of his craft and is passionate about empowering athletes & individuals performances.

Jess began training in functional Fitness and high intensity training when she discovered CrossFit in 2015 and was instantly hooked.

She began coaching in 2016 and has been lucky enough to coach at multiple CrossFit gyms in Bristol, run a number of CrossFit kids programmes and has spent the last couple of years coaching in Bali working alongside some world class coaches and some of the fittest people in the world.

Jess' passion lies in helping people fall in love with fitness, realising their potential and empowering people through working out. For Jess, its not just about looking good (which is a great by-product!) but feeling good, physically and mentally. Being a part of peoples journeys is so rewarding for Jess, she'll never tire of it.

Safaa is a highly qualified CrossFit coach and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified.

She was first introduced to Functional Fitness back home in Amman, Jordan in 2015 and got hooked right off the bat.

"It has been a huge part of my life and has given me the ability and confidence to go after the activities I love most - cycling long distances on my trusty road bike named Za'atar and going on multi-day hikes across incredible mountain ranges. I believe that chiropractic care can have a huge impact on enhancing the quality of people’s lives, by treating and relieving musculoskeletal and neurological complaints, enabling the body to function as it should. I achieve this by combining chiropractic techniques and soft tissue work alongside an exercise rehabilitation program bespoke to an individual’s needs.

I have a no nonsense, evidence-based perspective to chiropractic care, believing that an individual’s treatment plan should be specific to them and not a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
